The University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) proudly hosted its 8th Convocation Ceremony on Tuesday at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center, Dhaka. The grand event celebrated academic excellence, intellectual curiosity, and the power of informed minds shaping a better future — aligning perfectly with this year’s theme, “Informed Minds, Inspire Paths.”
The Chancellor’s Representative, Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Adviser for the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change & Ministry of Water Resources, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, officially declared the convocation open and presided over the ceremony.
Professor Dr. Mohammad Ayub Islam, Member of the University Grants Commission (UGC), graced the event as the Special Guest, while Syed Nasim Manzur, Managing Director of Apex Footwear Limited, delivered an inspiring Convocation Speech that encouraged graduates to pursue their ambitions with integrity, creativity, and social responsibility.
Distinguished guests including Syeda Madiha Murshed, Member of the ULAB Board of Trustees, and Professor Imran Rahman, Vice Chancellor of ULAB, also addressed the graduates, sharing words of wisdom and encouragement as they step into the next chapter of their lives.
This year’s Valedictorian’s Award was presented to Tashin Huq, who completed his Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) with an impressive CGPA of 3.86. In addition, two undergraduate and two graduate students were honored as Gold Medalists for their outstanding academic performances.
A total of 1,508 students — comprising 1,111 undergraduates and 397 graduates — proudly received their certificates at this year’s convocation, marking another milestone in ULAB’s ongoing journey of fostering liberal education, critical thinking, and global-minded citizens.
The 8th Convocation not only celebrated the accomplishments of ULAB’s graduating class but also highlighted the university’s enduring commitment to nurturing informed, ethical, and innovative individuals ready to inspire positive change in society.
