Dhaka, October 25, 2025 — The University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) successfully concluded its 11th Inter-University Student Conference and Cultural Competition, held on October 23–24, 2025, under the vibrant theme “Fairy Tales and Folklore: Happily N/ever After.”
The two-day event brought together talented students from 25 public and private universities across Bangladesh, celebrating creativity, research, and cultural expression.
Organized with a grant from the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, the conference featured academic paper presentations, cultural performances, and discussions on folklore, storytelling, and modern cultural narratives.
Brac University, ULAB, and SMUCT Students Lead the Way
The highlight of the conference was the Best Paper Award, which went to Romana Ruhin Ridi of Brac University for her outstanding research presentation. The Runner-Up Paper Award was won by Raisa Anan of ULAB, recognizing her impressive academic contribution.
In the cultural segment, “The Rizzlers of Fairy Tales”, a creative production by ULAB, emerged as the Champion, while “What is Beauty and Who is the Beast?” by Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology (SMUCT) earned the Runner-Up position.
These awards celebrated both intellectual and artistic achievements, showcasing the depth of talent across Bangladesh’s universities.
Chief Guest Encourages Youth to Lead with Creativity
The closing and prize-giving ceremony was graced by Abul Foyez Md Alauddin Khan, Additional Secretary (Admin) of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, as the chief guest.
In his inspiring address, he commended the participating students for their dedication to creative and academic excellence, saying:
“You are the future leaders who will shape and bring pride to Bangladesh.”
Drawing from his own academic background, Khan praised ULAB’s continuous efforts in fostering creativity, critical thinking, and cultural appreciation among young learners.
